This July, MANIAX is packing up the axes and heading to the legendary Abbey Medieval Festival, bringing authentic Viking-style axe throwing to the largest medieval festival in the Southern Hemisphere. Held at Abbeystowe in Caboolture on 11–12 July, the Abbey Medieval Festival attracts more than 30,000 visitors for a weekend of jousting, battle re-enactments, medieval markets, feasting and immersive historical experiences.
Whether you're arriving as a seasoned raider, a noble lord, a shieldmaiden, or just someone looking to unleash their inner Viking, make sure you visit the MANIAX throwing lanes. Our expert Axe-perts will be on hand to teach you the ancient art of hurling steel at timber targets, Viking-style. No experience required - just a steady hand and a taste for glory.
The 2026 Abbey Medieval Festival is celebrating its 35th anniversary and has already sold out, cementing its status as one of Australia's most iconic live historical events. Expect epic jousting tournaments, birds of prey, combat demonstrations, medieval encampments and enough chainmail to outfit a small kingdom.
